The Mitsotakis government took yet another nationally dangerous move, as it exported a large batch of artillery weaponry to Czechia, including howitzers and machine guns, which will be transferred at a later time to Ukraine and the Zelensky regime, as revealed by the Ukrainian media outlet militarnyi.com. The data regarding the procurement of the equipment are contained in the country's report to the UN Register of Conventional Arms for 2025, which came to the knowledge of the Ukrainian media outlet. On the contrary, in Greece the news is still diligently concealed... The relevant Ukrainian report notes that the Czech side received 66 M110A2 self-propelled guns of 203 mm caliber. In addition to self-propelled artillery, the agreement also covers towed large-caliber artillery. Specifically, Greece exported 68 M114 towed guns of 155 mm to Czechia. The defense package also includes 56 M101 towed guns of 105 mm. It is expected that Czechia has already transferred or will transfer this weaponry to Ukraine. Specifically, let us remember that the M110 self-propelled guns of 203 mm have already replenished the arsenal of the 52nd Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Before this, in early October 2025, reports appeared in the Greek media that the government of the country may sell 60 M110A2 self-propelled guns of 203 mm and 150 thousand ammunition pieces for them to Ukraine through Czechia.

60 M110A2 and 150,000 shells have already been delivered to Ukraine
In October 2025 an additional equipment package had been sent to Ukraine, which included dozens of heavy weapons and tens of thousands of ammunition pieces, among which 60 M110A2 self-propelled guns of 203 mm. In particular, according to the Ukrainian media outlet Militarnyi, which cites a report by Efsyn, the Ministry of National Defense of Greece transferred to Ukraine 60 M110A2 self-propelled guns of 203 mm, 150,000 shells for them, as well as thousands of Zuni 70mm and 127mm rockets through Czechia. These weapons have been characterized as non-operationally necessary by KYSEA, as they are considered obsolete and do not meet the current requirements of the Hellenic Armed Forces. The materials come from the stocks of the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Air Force and the delivery will be made "as is".
Total equipment package amounting to 200 million euros
The total value of the defense package is estimated at over 199 million euros. The military leadership assures that the export will not affect the defense capabilities of the country, as funding for the modernization of the arsenal has been secured. The package includes: 60 M110A2 guns, 50,000 M106 shells, 40,000 M650 HERA shells, 30,000 M404 ICM shells, 30,000 M509A1 DPICM shells, and rockets. The M509A1 DPICM contains up to 180 dual-purpose submunitions for the neutralization of armored vehicles and personnel. It is noted that the final decision on the transfer of the equipment will be made by KYSEA, with the Prime Minister himself presiding.
What the dispatch of the M110A2 to Ukraine removes from Greek defense
It is reminded, that the M110A2 is an American large-caliber self-propelled howitzer (203 mm) designed for the destruction of fortified positions, headquarters, ammunition depots and other strategic targets. It is a modernized version of the basic model M110, which has been in active service since the 1960s. The M110A2 can fire at a distance of up to 30 km (with HERA type rocket-assisted shells). Its main advantage is the power of its ammunition: a single shell can weigh over 100 kg and cause significant destruction. The A2 version received an improved gun with a longer barrel, which increased its range. However, since the early 2000s, the M110A2 gradually tends to be retired by some NATO countries due to its obsolete design, its low rate of fire and the lack of automation.
The Greek equipment package received in October 2025 by the Zelensky regime
According to information, which leaked a few days ago to Greek media, such as Efsyn, Greece sent in 2025 to the regime of Zelensky the following equipment:
1) 60 S/P howitzers M110A2 of an estimated value of at least 31,219,000 euros
2) 50,000 "high explosive" (HE: High Explosive) shells of M106 type with M2 propellant for an amount of at least 41.5 million euros
3) 40,000 long-range shells of M650 HERA (High Explosive Rocket-Assisted: high explosive, rocket-assisted) type with M188A1 propellant, of an estimated value of at least 60 million euros
4) 30,000 cluster-bearing shells of M404 ICM (Improved Conventional Munition: improved conventional munition) type after M188A1 propellant for an amount of at least 33 million euros
5) 30,000 cluster-bearing shells of M509A1 DPICM (Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munition: dual-purpose improved conventional munition) type after M188A1 propellant, valued at least 33.6 million euros.
It is noted, that each M509A1 shell disperses 180 dual-purpose bomblets against armored targets (with the hollow charge they are equipped with) and against personnel of M42 type.
