In a "bombshell" revelation that demonstrates how dangerously the war in Ukraine could escalate and how "dirty" some Europeans might play to avoid a crushing defeat, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has alleged that France and Britain are considering the secret transfer to Kyiv of a small TN75 nuclear warhead from an M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile.
According to the SVR, Paris and London are preparing to deliver nuclear weapons to Kyiv with the ultimate goal of providing the Ukrainians with a "miracle weapon" that could grant them leverage during negotiations—and beyond—with the Russians. "This involves the clandestine transfer to Ukraine of European components, equipment, and technologies in this field. The French TN75 small nuclear warhead from the M51.1 ballistic missile is being considered as a possibility," the SVR maintains.
Peskov (Russia): Provocative violation of International Law by France, Britain
The intention of Paris and London to deliver a nuclear bomb to Kyiv constitutes a provocative violation of International Law, argued Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. "You have already heard our parliament's appeals to colleagues in England and France to take action for parliamentary inquiries. This is a provocative violation of all norms and principles defined by the relevant texts of International Law," Peskov stated, commenting on the announcement by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service that Paris and London are actively working to provide a nuclear bomb to Kyiv, as well as the means for its delivery.
Furthermore, Peskov emphasized that data regarding these plans by France and Britain will be taken into account during various meetings aimed at resolving the Ukrainian issue. "Undoubtedly, this information will be considered during ongoing negotiations. Because this is potentially extremely dangerous information," the Kremlin spokesperson said.
The secret will become known
As reported by the SVR, London and Paris hope in vain to avoid responsibility for their plans to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons, as the Russian intelligence agency points out that the secret will eventually be revealed. According to the SVR, the UK and France perceive the catastrophic evolution of the situation in Ukraine; however, the British and French elites are not ready to accept defeat.
Miracle weapon
It is believed that Ukraine must be equipped with a "miracle weapon." Kyiv could claim more favorable terms for concluding hostilities if it possessed an atomic bomb or even a so-called "dirty bomb." "They hope in vain to avoid responsibility. Especially since every secret sooner or later becomes known. Within the military, political, and diplomatic circles of the UK and France, there are enough rational people who understand the danger of their leaders' reckless actions for the entire world," the SVR points out.
The dirty plan
According to the SVR, Britain and France understand that transferring nuclear weapons to Kyiv violates the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) and they want their appearance to look like the result of independent development by the Ukrainians themselves. "The UK and France understand that their plans involve a serious violation of International Law, primarily the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and are linked to the risk of destroying the global non-proliferation system. Therefore, the main efforts of the Westerners are focused on making it appear that Kyiv's possession of nuclear weapons is the result of development by the Ukrainians themselves," the SVR states.
No contact with reality
The extremely dangerous plans of London and Paris to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons show they have lost their sense of reality, the SVR stresses. "Such extremely dangerous plans by London and Paris show that they have lost their sense of reality," the Russian Intelligence Service underlines.
Russia calls for international investigation
Russian senators have appealed for the SVR revelations to be investigated at both national and international levels. "Senators of the Russian Federation are extremely concerned about the intention of the UK and France to place nuclear warheads in Ukraine... In this context, we call on our colleagues—members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the UK, as well as deputies of the National Assembly and members of the Senate of France—to immediately launch corresponding parliamentary investigations," the Russian Senate states.
Additionally, the Russian Senate proposes to the UN Security Council, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the relevant international authorities for nuclear non-proliferation to conduct investigations into the intentions of Britain and France.
Zelensky: We are at the beginning of the end of the war
At the same time, marking the completion of four years of military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky argued, ahead of a new round of negotiations in Geneva, that the two sides are at the "beginning of the end" of the war. In statements to the Financial Times, Zelensky reiterated his refusal to satisfy Russia's primary demand regarding the withdrawal of Ukrainian armed forces from approximately 20% of the territories they still control in Donetsk and the wider Donbass region.
It is noted that the US also desires this. "The US is convinced that Putin will end the war if Zelensky hands over the region of eastern Ukraine, something that, as he says, is a short-term and unwise idea," the report states. "Frankly, I don't believe this is what Russia is really asking for. Our withdrawal from Donbass, and then the war will end," said Zelensky, who called on the European Union to "stop avoiding and set a date for Ukraine's accession," stating that this "must happen" as early as 2027.
The big ceremony
Furthermore, the Ukrainian president, speaking this time to CNN, claimed that US President Donald Trump wants to organize a large ceremony with the simultaneous signing of all documents within the framework of the peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that the disagreements between himself and Trump mainly concern the sequence of steps toward peace: the American President considers ideal the simultaneous signing of agreements between Ukraine–Russia, Ukraine–US, and Europe regarding security guarantees.
Zelensky, however, insists that security guarantees must first be agreed upon and ratified by the US Congress, and then the remaining documents should be prepared. This, according to the Ukrainian president, will give the Ukrainian people the confidence that in the future they can rely on their allies.
