Prior to joining Paul Hastings, he served as co-head of the Greece practice at DLA Piper and partner in its Chambers-ranked Energy practice.

The role of Omran

Mr. Omran advises a wide spectrum of clients, including states, state entities, energy corporations, banking institutions, and investment funds, having played a major role in several of the most notable transactions and investments in Greece and Southeastern Europe.
Dr. Orestis Omran provides legal support for complex cross-border corporate and financial transactions across the energy, banking, and infrastructure sectors, while representing enterprises and investors on EU law matters before the European Commission and the courts of the European Union.
Admitted to practice in England and Wales, New York, Greece, and Belgium, Dr. Orestis Omran possesses extensive expertise in complex project finance and structured finance, privatizations, IPOs, acquisitions, and strategic investments, as well as renewable energy projects, hydrogen, power purchase agreements (PPAs), oil and gas, and cross-border energy infrastructure.

Paul Hastings' bet on the European market

«Our premier international presence in the Energy and Infrastructure sector has recorded impressive growth in recent years, and its further reinforcement represents a strategic priority for the firm», stated the Chair of Paul Hastings, Frank Lopez. «Orestis' experience substantively enhances our capabilities in Brussels, a market of pivotal importance for shaping the European regulatory framework, as well as in London and across Europe more broadly. His deep expertise in complex cross-border transactions, combined with his strong ties to the market, will further strengthen our capacity to deliver premier legal services to clients engaged in strategic international matters».

Energy, infrastructure, and international finance at the core of the strategy

«What drew me to Paul Hastings is the combination of top-tier expertise in the Energy and Infrastructure practice with powerful capabilities in international finance, mergers, and acquisitions. This comprehensive approach is precisely what clients across Europe seek today. At the same time, the firm's strategic investment in Brussels and London allows us to effectively support our clients through the most complex cross-border transactions and evolving regulatory demands of the European Union», stated Orestis Omran.
The addition of Mr. Omran forms part of Paul Hastings' strategic investment in its global Energy and Infrastructure practice, which was significantly expanded in 2025 with the addition of an international team with presence in Abu Dhabi, London, and Paris, and continues to expand worldwide through strategic hires. This specific addition also reflects the ongoing growth of Paul Hastings in London and continental Europe.
Recently, the Brussels office was strengthened by the arrival of prominent antitrust lawyer Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte, while recognized international arbitration partners Elizabeth Oger-Gross and Tolu Obamuroh joined in Paris.

Leading the largest international energy and infrastructure transactions

During the first half of 2026, the Energy and Infrastructure team of Paul Hastings ranked 12 times among the top three positions in global league tables by IJGlobal, Infralogic, and Proximo.
