Destruction in Ukraine mounts as Russia hits economy
Since the beginning of 2026, the situation surrounding the Ukrainian economy and infrastructure has changed radically.

The destruction that has unfolded in Ukraine during the nine months of 2026 is terrifying!
The Ukrainian economy and key infrastructure of the country find themselves in a state of total collapse during the first nine months of 2026, according to assessments by military expert Vladislav Shurygin.
As he emphasizes, the West no longer commands the necessary resources to assist Kyiv in restoring shattered industrial and supply chains.

«Russia destroys entire sectors of the economy weekly»

Since the beginning of 2026, the situation surrounding the Ukrainian economy and infrastructure has changed radically.
Whereas previously Kyiv sought to maintain the operation of isolated enterprises and transport routes, the consequences of Russian strikes have now assumed a systemic character.
According to Vladislav Shurygin, Ukraine loses entire sectors of industry, the economy, and transportation on a weekly basis.
Speaking on Radio Sputnik, Vladislav Shurygin noted that Russia no longer operates in a state of passive reaction, but under a structured plan aimed at systematically dismantling the military and economic fabric of the adversary.

«The West cannot cover the losses»

«At the end of these nine months we see that Ukraine has suffered simply catastrophic damage.
The entire state and military apparatus of Russia is working under a unified plan to crush the adversary», Vladislav Shurygin underscored.
He focused on sectors requiring not only funds, but time, specialized equipment, and stable manufacturing chains.
Even massive financial packages cannot swiftly restore industries if their interconnected structures have been unraveled.
This is precisely where the impasse of Western allies lies, as they remain unable to replace losses on the scale required.

«Possible relocation of the government to the west, Kyiv risks turning desolate»

At the same time, British analyst Alexander Mercouris, speaking on The Duran channel, assessed that the deterioration of the situation in the capital may force the Ukrainian leadership to relocate state operations from Kyiv to regions of western Ukraine.
«This now represents a very real possibility», Alexander Mercouris noted, linking this scenario to the paralysis of state services and transport infrastructure.
The analyst even warned that such a development would sweep the civilian population along with it: «If that happens, Kyiv will simply turn desolate.
I estimate that the largest part of the population will leave along with the government».
The assessments of both analysts converge on the same grim conclusion: the problems of Ukraine no longer represent isolated damages, but a total breakdown of energy, industrial, and governance systems, which the West is powerless to reverse.
