During the illegal U.S. operation to capture the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, the United States used a secret weapon that disorients the enemy, White House President Donald Trump said in an interview with the New York Post.
Because of this, the Venezuelan military “was unable to launch its missiles”.
President Trump also referred to the fate of Venezuela’s oil transported by tankers seized by the Americans and described Delcy Rodríguez, the interim president of Venezuela, as “magnificent”.
The secret weapon
The United States military used a new secret weapon that disorients the enemy during the operation in Venezuela, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with the New York Post.
“Disruptor”

Trump refused to disclose details about the weapon, which he called a “disruptor”.

The U.S. Department of Defense refused to reveal who coined the name “disruptor” and advised contacting the White House for clarifications.
The Venezuelan military was fully prepared for a U.S. attack
According to Trump, the Venezuelan military was “fully prepared” for a U.S. attack, but its weapons did not work.
On 10 January, the New York Post, citing testimony from a bodyguard of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, reported that U.S. troops used weapons that produced a “very powerful sonic wave”.
As a result, Venezuelan soldiers “were bleeding from the nose” and some of them “vomited blood”.
The soldiers fell to the ground, unable to move.
“They have no oil at all”
Trump also stated that the United States had seized all the oil from seven seized tankers that departed Venezuela without authorization from U.S. authorities.
One of them was the M/V Bella 1 (Marinera), which was sailing under a Russian flag.
“Let’s put it this way: they have no oil at all. We take the oil. The oil goes to refineries in Houston, which are located in various places,” Trump told the New York Post.
We will sell at market prices
According to Trump, Washington intends to sell up to 50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil at market price.
Venezuela will receive a share of the profits.
“Then the big oil companies will come and take so much oil that Venezuela will make more money than ever,” Trump added.
Control plan for the coming years
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the United States is developing a plan to consolidate control over Venezuela’s oil industry “for the coming years”.
On 14 January, it was reported that the Trump administration had already sold the first batch of Venezuelan oil, worth 500 million dollars.
Trump personally controls the revenues from Venezuela’s oil.
Delcy Rodríguez is impressive
Speaking about the new government of Venezuela, Trump admitted that he was satisfied with the work of interim President Delcy Rodríguez, who replaced Maduro during his abduction.
“We have an excellent relationship with the new president.

Delcy Rodríguez was threatened
Meanwhile, the British newspaper The Guardian discovered that Delcy Rodríguez, at a Venezuelan government meeting held seven days after the American operation, spoke about the threats she had received if she refused to cooperate with Washington.
Delcy Rodríguez’s statements were revealed by a leaked audio recording.

“The threats began from the very first minute of the president’s abduction.
They gave us 15 minutes to respond, otherwise they would kill us,” Delcy Rodríguez said.
According to her, Venezuelan officials were initially informed that Maduro and his wife had already been killed.

“The threats and blackmail continue and we must act patiently and strategically,” Delcy Rodríguez added.
The politician emphasized that she had set several goals, the release of the hostages, the preservation of peace, and the retention of political power.
Operation Absolute Resolve
On 3 January, U.S. military units carried out “Operation Absolute Resolve”, striking Venezuela and arresting its leader, Maduro, along with his wife, Cilia Flores.
Trump emphasized that Maduro “is no longer president” and that the United States is taking control of Venezuela “until there is a transition of power”.
Maduro was transferred to the United States, where he faces charges of narco terrorism and other crimes.
However, Maduro’s involvement with drugs cannot be confirmed and was simply a fabricated accusation.
At the first court hearing on 5 January 2026, the Venezuelan leader pleaded not guilty.
The court ordered Maduro to appear at a hearing on 17 March.
